Every moment is a story, just waiting to be told.

Mary was raised in the beautiful Ozark Mountains of Northwest Arkansas, this is where she met her husband and home-birthed her three children. Then she and her family spent an amazing year exploring Belfast, Northern Ireland before relocating to Northern Minnesota in 2010 where they learned how to adjust to a much colder environment. In June of 2013 they made another move, this time to the breathtaking Rocky Mountains in northern Colorado where more adventures await!

Mary has been a student of the human condition her entire life and has written in one form or another since childhood. Her experiences of living in small towns, large cities, and living in another country provide her with a unique perspective on life and culture which is likewise portrayed in her articles. She has enjoyed writing since a young age and her work has been published in VegFamily, International Doula, Spring Thaw, the Grand Rapids Herald-Review, the Johnstown Breeze, the Hibbing Daily Tribune, the Western Itasca Review, and as radio essays on KAXE's "Between You and Me" and "The Beat".

Mary was featured in the Grand Rapids Herald-Review's 'Pride & Progress 2013' annual special publication on local young professionals.

The Colorado Press Association awarded "Quietly Contrary" 1st place in the 'Best Serious Column' category, 2013.
